I was using my laptop to play fallout 4 through game pass for PC. I recently set up my desktop and redownload fallout 4 through game pass for PC on my desktop. Both my laptop and my desktop are logged into the same game pass account but I can't access my save file from my laptop. I went into the file for fo4 on my laptop but couldn't find a Some things I noticed was that my "saved" files would show up in the saves folder in my Skyrim saves directory but they would not show up in the game. I also saw that all the "saved" files were all marked #183. I tried emptying the save folder and starting a fresh one, but that didn't seem to work. go to My Documents>My Games>Fallout 4. The Saves folder, Falloutprefs, and Fallout4 all need full control set for HomeUsers. For all 3 click properties, then the security tab,then the edit tab, click on HomeUsers, then check the full control box, then apply. Now you can change the video options and the in game saves will work. It is just a text file, so you can open it with notepad which is included in windows. find the entry for the LooksMenu.esp file and check to see if it has an asterisk * in front of the name. If it does not, put one there. Then hold down the CTRL key, and tap your S key to save the changes. Do a full uninstall and clean new install of this mod. Try with and without the default settings file from installer (Installs an existing Data\MCM\Settings\FallUI*.ini settings file) Make sure your folders " data\F4SE ", " data\MCM " and " data\MCM\Settings " are either all managed via your Mod Organizer (recommended) OR all directly in the 2: You do not want to quick save.
